On March 20, 21 and 22 of 2019 the Lopez ECHS Choirs traveled to Harlingen for their yearly University Interscholastic League (UIL) Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation. Each choir has to perform three songs on stage in front of a panel of (3) judges and after their performance they go into a separate area and sight-read music in front of (3) different judges. Each judges rates the choir with a numerical rating: (1) Superioer, (2) Excellent, (3) Good etc... This process is a culmination of their learning and music making from the beginning of the year until now.
We are excited and proud to announce that all FOUR Lopez Choirs received the coveted SWEEPSTAKES Trophy which can only be obtained by receiving Superior ratings from all judges.
This moment in our UIL History marks a continuation of our legacy that began three years ago. We also started a new path with the return of the Varsity Women's Choir which has not represented Lopez at UIL since 2003.
